What we can help with
- Signing in, changing your email, closing your account.
- Subscriptions, invoices, refunds and cancellation.
- Exporting or deleting your data, and any data-protection request.
- Accessibility problems — we treat these as defects.
- A breakdown that looks wrong, so we can correct the table.
What we cannot help with
- Whether work needs to be notified, or whether anything complies with anything. We make no such determination, ever.
- Whether a wall can come out, or any other structural or safety question. That needs a qualified professional on site.
- Finding, recommending or vetting a tradesperson.
- What a job should cost, or how long it should take.
These are not things we are unwilling to do. They are things this service does not do, by design. See the AI notice.
Questions we get most
01Does this job need to be notified to anyone?
This tool does not decide that, and it never will. What it does is tell you when a job involves a type of work that is notifiable in many places, so that you know to raise it. It makes no statement about the rules where you live, who would notify anything, or whether anything meets a requirement.
Ask whoever quotes for the work what applies where you are and who handles it. Your local authority is the other place to ask. Both of them know your jurisdiction; this tool does not.
02Can this wall come out?
This tool makes no structural judgement of any kind — not about walls, not about floors, not about anything holding your building up. It does not assess safety.
Anything involving load-bearing structure, gas or asbestos has to be looked at on site by a qualified professional before anything else happens. A sentence typed into a box is the wrong instrument for that question. When the tool sees that kind of content it stops and says so rather than listing trades, and that is deliberate.
03What happens to what I type, and is it used to train a model?
Your description, and any photo you choose to upload, are not used to train any model. They are processed to produce your breakdown and kept with your account so you can come back to it. You can delete a breakdown at any time, and deleting your account removes them.
Photos are optional. The tool works completely without one. Photos containing people are not accepted. Full detail is in the Privacy notice.
04How accurate is it, and what is it actually doing?
The trades and the order come from a local table of jobs and the dependencies between trades, held in this application. A language model is used only to work out which entry in that table your sentence is about — it does not choose the trades, does not order them, and does not write the reasons.
That means the output is consistent, but it also means it is general. It describes how a job of that kind usually goes, not how your job will go. It has not seen your property, and every breakdown says plainly what it cannot know. Treat it as preparation for a conversation, not as a substitute for one. See the AI notice.
05Can I cancel, and can I get a refund?
You can cancel at any time from your billing page, in a few clicks and without contacting us. Access continues to the end of the period you have already paid for.
If you are a consumer you also have a statutory right to cancel within 14 days of subscribing. Because this service is supplied digitally and immediately, that right ends once supply has begun with your express consent and your acknowledgement that the right is lost — which is why there are two separate tick boxes at checkout, neither of them ticked for you. The full detail, including the statutory cancellation form, is on the Cancellation and refunds page.
06How does the monthly allowance work?
Each plan includes an allowance for the month. A breakdown from a sentence uses one, reading an optional photo uses two, and generating the sequence board and breakdown cards uses five. The allowance is a measure of service use. It is not money, not stored value, cannot be exchanged for cash, and cannot be transferred.
Unused allowance does not carry over into the next month. There are no top-up packs and no stored balance — if you regularly run out, the answer is a larger plan.
07Will you tell me who to hire, or what it should cost?
No. The tool names categories of work — electrician, plumber, carpenter — and never a person, a firm or a platform. It gives no quote, no estimate, no price range, no duration and no introduction to anyone. What it gives you is a clear account of what the job involves, which is what you need in order to ask for a quote properly.
08Is there a minimum age?
The service is for adults. You must be at least 18 to create an account and to subscribe. Accounts we become aware of that belong to someone under 18 are closed and any subscription cancelled.
